A crypto card spends stablecoins or bitcoin as baht at any shop that takes Visa or Mastercard, and draws cash at a Thai ATM, with no Thai bank account behind it. Which ones issue to people living in Thailand is the question; the table answers it card by card, with the page it came from.

Features listed: send THB overseas, fund the account from a Thai bank account, scan to pay with PromptPay QR / Thai QR, receive via PromptPay e-wallet ID or PromptPay QR (maximum 10,000 THB per transaction), hold and convert 40+ currencies, foreign-currency account details (e.g. US routing number, UK IBAN). Transfers to non-THB currencies involve two conversions (to THB first, then to the destination currency). Conflict: Wise's separate help page 'Where do I need to live to hold money with Wise?' still reads 'we've temporarily stopped issuing currencies and account details for customers in Thailand'.

Cost: Limits on the help page: 800,000 THB per day outward remittance; 30,000 THB per day for multi-currency account payments (increases with usage); 750,000 THB per day conversion from THB to other currencies; PromptPay receive capped at 10,000 THB per transaction. The March 2026 announcement says Wise uses the mid-market rate; no Thailand fee table was read.

For a foreigner: The announcement names 'Thai citizens, businesses and foreign residents'. The help page applies to customers whose registered address is in Thailand and states: 'Non-immigrant visas such as Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and Education Visas (ED) will be accepted for verification purposes.' A physical Wise card can be delivered to a Thai address, plus up to 3 digital cards; the Thai-address card cannot withdraw cash at ATMs in Thailand ('You will still be able to withdraw cash from ATMs abroad'). Existing cards of Thai-address customers are cancelled by September 2026 with a free replacement. Business accounts are excluded from these changes.[73][74][75]

Wise transfers into Thailand (THB payouts)

Wise pays THB to Thai bank accounts. Its THB guide lists 10 supported banks: Bangkok Bank, BAAC, Krungsri, CIMB Thai, Citibank, Government Savings Bank, Kasikorn, Kiatnakin Phatra, Krung Thai, SCB. From 6 May 2025 it lists 18 banks as no longer supported 'due to payment system upgrades in Thailand', including TMBThanachart (011), UOB (024), HSBC (031), Government Housing Bank (033), TISCO (067), Land and Houses (073). Conflict inside the page: Citibank appears in both lists. Instant delivery to Kasikorn, Krung Thai, SCB, CIMB Thai, Krungsri, Kiatnakin Phatra; up to 24 hours or more to Bangkok Bank. The 2025-2026 guide does not mention PromptPay payouts; a Wise Singapore blog post dated 8 April 2020 said transfers up to 50,000 baht were paid via PromptPay between 1am and 7pm Thai time.

Cost: Per-transaction caps: 2,000,000 THB to Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn; 1,499,999 THB to SCB; 500,000 THB to other supported banks; minimum 1 THB. Wise's US page shows fixed fees for a 350 USD example: 4.76 USD by direct debit, 10.25 USD by bank transfer, 16.38 USD by debit card, 22.22 USD by credit card.

For a foreigner: Recipient details required: full name, address, bank name, email address, a 5-16 digit bank account number, and transfer purpose. The recipient needs a Thai bank account at a supported bank; no Wise account is needed to receive.[343][344][345]

Foreign-issued Wise card at Thai ATMs

A Wise card issued outside Thailand carries Wise's own ATM allowance and fees set by the card's issuing country; the Thai ATM owner's fee (see thai-atm-fee-foreign-cards) is charged on top. Wise pages state 'ATM operators may charge their own fees'. The pricing pages read do not name Thailand. Wise's help article says fees depend on where the card was issued, usually the registered address.

Cost: US-issued card: no Wise ATM fee up to 250 USD combined per calendar month; after that 1.95 USD + 1.95% per withdrawal. UK-issued card: up to and including 250 GBP per month free; 2.69% on the amount above 250 GBP per month. A search-result snippet from Wise says the free-withdrawal structure changed from 1 May 2026, with timing by country (not read on a page).

For a foreigner: Applies to cards issued in Wise-supported countries of residence. A Wise card issued to a Thai address cannot withdraw cash at ATMs in Thailand (see wise-thailand-resident-account).[346][347][348]

Revolut

reported

Revolut does not list Thailand as a country of residence for sign-up, per a Revolut developer reply on its Thai App Store listing ('Unfortunately, Thailand is currently not a supported country') and 2026 third-party guides. Revolut's own help and Thailand pages returned HTTP 403 or a security-check page to the fetch, so the current country list was not read. Cards issued in supported countries work in Thailand for card payments and ATM withdrawals per third-party guides; the Thai ATM owner's fee applies.

Cost: Unclear from Revolut's own pages (blocked). Third-party snippets: Thai ATM fee of 250 baht per withdrawal charged by the ATM, not Revolut; Revolut plan-dependent withdrawal allowance and a 2% fee after the monthly limit (snippet, not verified).

For a foreigner: Only for people resident in a Revolut-supported country; a Thailand address is not accepted per the App Store reply. The App Store reply is dated 02/11/2022 (day/month order not stated).[349][350][351]

Western Union (into and out of Thailand)

Receiving in Thailand: cash pickup at agent locations with the sender details, the MTCN and a valid government-issued photo ID; or direct deposit to a Thai bank account (receiver name must match). Western Union's Thailand page says 'More than 6,100 agent locations in Thailand'; its US send page says 'more than 5,100 agent locations' (conflict). Bank deposit 'typically takes up to two banking days'. The US page also offers payout to a Visa debit card number. Sending from Thailand: online, app or in person; profile verified with a government-issued ID; payment by debit or credit card or bank transfer (direct debit).

Cost: Fees and exchange rates are not printed on the pages read (the US page renders fee and rate fields as template placeholders). The US page advertises '$0 fees on your first transfer' (FX margin still applies; excludes credit cards). Western Union earns on the exchange rate as well as the fee.

For a foreigner: Cash pickup needs a government-issued photo ID; the pages do not say whether a passport is accepted, though a passport is a government-issued photo ID. No Thai bank account is needed for cash pickup. Thailand support line on the page: +66 20 79 1171.[352][353][354]

DeeMoney (Sawasdeeshop Co., Ltd)

Inbound: a 2019 launch with Wing (Cambodia) allowed up to 1,000 USD per transaction paid in cash at DeeMoney branches or to Thai bank accounts; no current inbound corridor list was found on DeeMoney's site.

Cost: The site's calculator shows 'Fees Today 0 THB' with a promotion; no standard fee table on the pages read. DeeMoney's own blog pages (now HTTP 404) were quoted in search snippets as 150 THB plus 7% VAT per transfer in 2025, 125-150 THB 'starting from', up to 200,000 THB per transaction and 800,000 THB per month (snippets only).

For a foreigner: Registration FAQ on deemoney.com (paraphrased): sign-up needs basic identification documents such as a passport or work permit, verified electronically to meet Thai regulatory requirements. No visa type is named on the pages read. A search snippet from a DeeMoney blog said a valid passport and proof of address suffice for short-stay visitors (page no longer loads).[355][356][357][358][359]

Thai bank ATM fee on foreign-issued cards

Thai banks charge a flat fee per cash withdrawal with a card issued abroad, on top of any fee from the card issuer. Bank fee schedules read today show 250 THB for Visa, UnionPay and JCB, and 350 THB for Mastercard. Krungsri: Mastercard 350 THB, Visa 250 THB, UnionPay 250 THB, JCB 250 THB, foreign-issued AMEX 50 THB (schedule effective 11 March 2026; this item amended by notice ANN_RPM_8/2569 dated 9 February 2026). SCB: Visa 250 THB, Mastercard 350 THB, UPI 250 THB, JCB 250 THB, APN 50 THB, foreign-issued AMEX 50 THB (schedule effective 1 September 2026). Kasikorn: Visa 250 THB, China UnionPay 250 THB, Mastercard 350 THB (notice อ 024/2569 dated 14 September 2026, effective 22 September 2026). TTB: Visa 250 THB (effective 1 July 2025), Mastercard 350 THB (effective 3 March 2026), China UnionPay 250 THB (effective 1 July 2025) (schedule effective 10 September 2026). Bangkok Bank, Krungthai, UOB: not read on the bank's own page (Bangkok Bank timed out; Krungthai returned a bot-protection page); thailand-atm-calculator.com (updated August 2026) lists each at 250 THB Visa / 350 THB Mastercard. GSB and CIMB Thai: not found on their fee pages today; unclear. Conflict: several 2026 third-party guides (Superagent 22 Apr 2026, ThailandKnowledge June 2026, Chiang Rai Times 5 Sep 2026) still state 220 THB at all major banks; the banks' own schedules show 250/350. The TTB effective dates place the Visa rise to 250 THB at 1 July 2025 and the Mastercard 350 THB at 3 March 2026 for that bank. A Thaiger report on Bank of Thailand notice 23/2569 (bank fee caps phased in 1 July to 1 October 2026) lists no item on foreign-card ATM fees.

Cost: 250 THB (Visa, UnionPay, JCB) or 350 THB (Mastercard) per withdrawal at Krungsri, SCB, Kasikorn and TTB per their schedules. Cash withdrawal over the counter with a foreign Visa/Mastercard on a bank EDC terminal: SCB 180 THB per transaction; Krungsri 200 THB per transaction (Visa, at branches and exchange offices).

For a foreigner: Applies to any card issued abroad. The card issuer's own ATM and currency-conversion fees are separate. The fee is charged per withdrawal regardless of amount.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22]

AEON ATMs, foreign-card fee

reported

Third-party guides state AEON ATMs charge foreign cards less than the banks. AEON Thana Sinsap's own fee pages (aeon.co.th fees, credit-card fees, general FAQ) show no line for withdrawals with cards issued abroad. Conflict: thailand-atm-calculator.com (August 2026) says it cannot verify a current AEON network or its availability to foreign cards.

Cost: 150 THB per withdrawal per ThailandKnowledge (last verified June 2026) and Chiang Rai Times (5 September 2026); not confirmed by AEON.

For a foreigner: Unclear which AEON machines accept foreign cards today.[360][21][361]

TouristDigiPay (Thai SEC regulatory sandbox)

reported

A sandbox run under the Thai SEC with the Ministry of Finance, the Anti-Money Laundering Office and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, announced 18 August 2025. A foreign visitor opens two accounts once in Thailand: one with an SEC-licensed digital asset exchange, broker or dealer, and one e-money wallet with a Bank of Thailand-licensed e-money operator. Crypto is converted to THB in the wallet and spent at merchants by QR; crypto is not paid to merchants and cash withdrawal is not permitted. Reported timeline: rules effective 24 September 2025; operator applications 25 September to 26 December 2025; go-live expected Q4 2025; sandbox period up to 18 months. Unused THB can be converted back to digital assets through the same operator and sent to the original wallet (Thairath, 18 August 2025). The scheme extends the earlier Phuket Sandbox (Thairath). Participants: Bitkub Exchange announced it joined, planning account opening for foreign visitors and e-money partners at airports (Bangkok Biz News press release, 20 August 2025); a January 2026 guide names SCBX's Rubie Wallet; no official participant list was read. Status as of September 2026: reported as a live pilot running into early 2027; the SEC's site returned HTTP 403 to the fetch, so current status and participant list are not confirmed.

Cost: Limits reported: 50,000 THB per person per month for payments to small vendors (no know-your-merchant check); up to 500,000 THB per person per month at merchants that completed know-your-merchant. Operators must notify the SEC if a single conversion exceeds 450,000 THB (AIM Bangkok). One guide (Sabaifly) also states 100,000 THB per transaction; single source. Conversion fees not found.

For a foreigner: For foreign visitors staying in Thailand temporarily (AIM Bangkok's wording, paraphrased). No source read names visa types or states how long-stay foreign residents are treated; unclear whether DTV, retirement or work-visa holders qualify. KYC and customer due diligence required; for monthly amounts above 50,000 THB per person, operators check the source of the digital assets with blockchain forensic tools.[67][68][69][70][71][72]

Alipay, WeChat Pay and Alipay+ at Thai QR codes

The Bank of Thailand's cross-border payment page (dated May 2026) lists China: visitors from China use UnionPay, Alipay and WeChat Pay to scan Thai QR codes; it also lists QR links with Cambodia (KHQR), Japan, Malaysia (DuitNow), Vietnam (VietQR), Singapore (NETS, PayNow), Indonesia (QRIS), Hong Kong (FPS), Lao PDR (LAO QR) and Korea (Paybooc). Alipay+ lists Thai partner wallets TrueMoney, LINE Pay (Thailand), K PLUS and SCB Planet Plus, and lists Wise as a partner. A Wise Thailand guide (updated 2 June 2026) says the standard Alipay app can scan supported PromptPay QR codes at merchants showing the Alipay or Alipay+ logo, free for consumers; another Wise guide says Wise customers in Europe, Malaysia, Singapore and the UK can pay Alipay+ merchants from the Wise app. A 2 January 2026 guide says Alipay and WeChat Pay work at business QR codes only, not personal PromptPay QR codes at street stalls or taxis.

Cost: Wise guide: scanning PromptPay QR with Alipay is 'free for consumers'. Alipay's own fee for foreign-card top-up or payment was not read (alipay.com renders by script); unclear. WeChat Pay fees: not found.

For a foreigner: Alipay registration takes a linked debit or credit card (Wise guide). Alipay Tour Pass: no current page found; status unclear. Whether a foreign-card WeChat Pay account can pay Thai QR codes: not confirmed.[362][363][364][365][70]

TrueMoney Wallet for foreigners

reported

Thai e-wallet (Alipay+ partner) that pays merchant QR codes and shows a barcode for merchants to scan. Per a Wise guide (4 June 2026): foreigners register with a passport or pink Thai ID card plus visa information, with approval in one to three business days; the wallet holds a maximum of 30,000 THB. A 2 January 2026 guide describes two tiers for foreigners: passport only, 30,000 THB; passport plus Thai driving licence or work permit, 50,000 THB with full PromptPay QR access; it reports limits on personal QR scanning for short-stay visa holders. TrueMoney's own site returned HTTP 403 to the fetch, so none of this was read on TrueMoney's pages. No TrueMoney product aimed at foreign visitors was found.

Cost: Per the Wise guide: top-ups free in most cases except at TrueMoney kiosks; 7-Eleven top-ups 10-3,000 THB per transaction; linked bank account top-ups capped at 50,000 THB per day; bank transfers out 20 THB; overseas transfers 99 or 199 THB flat plus any exchange-rate margin. A second Wise guide states a 3.5% foreign transaction fee.

For a foreigner: Top-up methods listed: 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, ATMs, internet banking, cash kiosks. The Wise guide says holders of work or student visas get fuller access than short-stay visitors. A Wise e-wallet guide says the e-wallets it covers need a Thai bank account or card and a Thai phone number, and that ShopeePay closed foreign user accounts in 2025.[366][367][70]

TAGTHAi Easy Pay / PAY&TOUR (with Kasikornbank)

A prepaid e-wallet for foreign visitors in the TAGTHAi app. The visitor applies at a Kasikornbank foreign-exchange booth with a passport, exchanges currency to load it, and receives a 6-digit PIN to link the wallet in the TAGTHAi app. It pays by scanning PromptPay QR codes nationwide; payments cannot exceed the available balance. Cash comes out cardless at Kasikornbank ATMs. Wise's February 2026 guide describes the same PAY&TOUR prepaid card as the route for short-stay visitors into PromptPay.

Cost: TAGTHAi page: no application or card fees; cash withdrawal at any Kasikornbank ATM with no fees. Exchange rate at the booth not stated. A January 2026 guide reports up to 10,000 THB per day free at KBank ATMs (not on TAGTHAi's page).

For a foreigner: Passport holders; loading is by currency exchange at KBank booths, not by foreign card on the page read. No monthly limit is stated on the page. No crypto or TouristDigiPay link is mentioned.[368][369]

PromptPay

Thailand's real-time transfer and QR payment system, operated by National ITMX under Bank of Thailand oversight. The Bank of Thailand page lists registration identifiers as 'citizen ID, mobile phone number (or recipient's other identification number) and bank account number', registered by linking an existing bank account through mobile banking, internet banking, ATM or branch. E-wallets and e-money accounts also connect to PromptPay (e.g. Wise Thailand's PromptPay e-wallet ID, TAGTHAi's PromptPay QR payments).

Cost: Bank of Thailand fee ceilings: free up to 5,000 THB; under 2 THB for 5,000-30,000 THB; under 5 THB for 30,000-100,000 THB; under 10 THB above 100,000 THB; 'Since 2018, most banks have waived fees for digital payment transactions such as mobile payment.'

For a foreigner: Needs a Thai bank account or a Thai e-money wallet linked to PromptPay. A foreigner with a Thai bank account can link a Thai mobile number (Wise guide, February 2026). Whether a passport number can be registered as a PromptPay ID: not stated on the Bank of Thailand page or the Wise guide; unclear. Short-stay visitors reach PromptPay QR through TAGTHAi/PAY&TOUR, Alipay+ wallets or partner-country apps (see those items).[370][369][371]

Crypto ATMs

Unclear. CoinATMRadar blocked every fetch (Cloudflare 'Sorry, you have been blocked' page, also in a browser tab), the Internet Archive was offline, and no other ATM directory was read, so no machine count, operator or city is confirmed for Thailand today. Legal position: not read on a regulator page; the Thai SEC site (sec.or.th) returned HTTP 403. Sources read state that only SEC-licensed digital asset exchanges, brokers and dealers may convert crypto for visitors under TouristDigiPay (AIM Bangkok), and that since 1 April 2022 Thai rules bar crypto as payment for goods and services while holding and trading stay legal (Wikipedia). No SEC warning or enforcement action about crypto ATMs was found in what was read; this is not evidence that none exists.[426][427][68]
